Tippett dominant at Senior Match Play

quarter-final matches were faced with even windier conditions on the morning of day 2 of the 2014 Australian Men's Senior Match Play Championship at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club, however Barry Tippett showed he can handle the conditions with ease getting up 5&4 over Steve Toyne.

John Banting from WA finished off Ian Frost from Vic with a 35 foot putt on the 18th to finish 2up, while Brian Sams took until the 20th hole to account for Sal Ballard.

In the last match of the quarter finals, Peter King finished 1up over Vince Clark to be the last Queenslander standing going in to the semi-finals.

The afternoon semi-finals were hard fought with the wind easing, which increased the on course temperature.

Barry Tippet from Vic and John Banting from WA made the most of their time on course taking the match the 21st hole with Tippett prevailing.

Brian Sams did it a little easier with a 3&2 win over Peter King.

Barry Tippett and Brian Sams will go head to head at 9am tomorrow morning to see who will be crowned the 2014 Australian Men's Senior Match Play Champion.
