Mark Hensby and Aaron Baddeley had their best finishes of the PGA Tour season in the Barbasol Championship in Alabama.
Hensby, who is no longer a Tour member, finished tied-sixth in his first tour start since 2013, a remarkable result. He was playing on a sponsor’s exemption, and has been relying on Monday qualifying of late.
The New South Welshman has endured a difficult few years that included a bad car accident, but he won $US120,000 for his strong finish. Scott Piercy of the United States won the tournament.
Baddeley played a brilliant finishing round of 67 to finish tied-10th in Alabama, his first top-10 finish in 20 starts this season.
Meanwhile on the LPGA Tour, Minjee Lee continued her strong debut season with a tie for 22nd in the Marathon Classic in Ohio.
Lee, 19, is 14th in the Race to CME Globe standings midway through the season, with the Women’s British Open approaching at Turnberry in Scotland next week.
The Perth star is third in the LPGA rookie of the year standings.
