Tour Championship shelved after stars’ snub

OneAsia have dumped the inaugural Tour Championship from their 2013 calendar after failing to attract big-name players.

The $2million tournament was set to take place at Mission Hills in Shenzhen starting Thursday, but will now be held for the first time in 2014.

The event has been removed from the tour's schedule with team tournament – the Dongfeng Nissan Cup – to start December 12.

Australian Matthew Griffin claims the order of merit with $257,480.20, nearly $50,000 clear of South Korean Ryu Hyun-Woo.

Griffin, winner of the SK Telecom Open in May, was thrilled and said winning the order of merit had been a goal of his.

"I set myself the goal of winning the title so obviously I'm delighted with the result," he said.

"It's a great tour and I look forward to winning more on OneAsia."
