Local hope Liang Wen-Chong overcame South Korea&aposs YE Yang in a sudden-death playoff to clinch the Nanshan China Masters on Sunday, while Australia&aposs Aaron Townsend finished third. Liang made a decisive 12-foot putt for birdie on the fifth hole of the playoff, securing his fourth OneAsia title and first since the 2010 Thailand Open. Yang carded a two-under final-round 69 to go level with overnight leader Liang (73) on a four-round total of eight-under 276. The pair matched each other four times on the par-four 18th hole before Liang grabbed the victory in fading light. “I&aposm very happy,” Liang said. “I have never been involved in something like this. Thanks to YE for making it so exciting.” Townsend (72) missed the playoff by one stroke after carding two bogeys on his last five holes. South Africa&aposs Louis Oosthuizen (67), Garrett Sapp (69) of the United States and South Korea&aposs Wang Jeung-Hun (69) ended in a tie for fourth at five under. New Zealand&aposs Michael Hendry (68) was seventh at four under, one stroke ahead of Australian duo Steven Jones (67) and Scott Laycock (70) and Indonesia&aposs Rory Hie (69).
