Paul Treloar has been crowned the Commonwealth Senior Amateur Champion after returning a six over par score of 79.

For the third day in a row it has taken a countback to decide the winner, however this time Stephen Valentine did not come out on top.

Two birdies from Treloar on the back nine were enough to separate the two.

Stephen Pettyfor and Phillip Jefferey were locked on net 74 at the completion of their rounds to lead the men’s net section.

Birdies on 17 and 18 for Pettyfor proved the difference and gave him the win on a countback.

In the women’s event, Melinda Crawford scored 19 scratch stableford points to run away with the title.

The women’s stableford prize went to Saowapa McDowall with 24 points after nudging out Elizabeth Alston in a countback.
