Tri-State to honour founder

To honour the immensely popular founder and original tournament director, Shane Doherty, who sadly passed away in July after a 12-month battle with terminal cancer, the Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters has been fittingly renamed the Shane Doherty Memorial Tri-State Masters.

Last year the tournament’s 21st anniversary boasted players from over 80 different golf clubs, and $250,000 worth of hole-in-one prizes, trophies, teams prizes and door prizes were on offer.

The 2014 Shane Doherty Memorial Tri-State Masters will be staged from May 18-23. The golf will commence on Monday at Riverside Golf Club and will continue on Wednesday at Red Cliffs and at Coomealla on Friday.  There is also an optional 4BBB at the Mildura Golf Resort and a four-person Ambrose at Coomealla Golf Club on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.

The nightly social functions are optional, but for fun-lovers they are not to be missed and are an enjoyable way for competitors and their partners to meet new friends and catch up with old acquaintances.

The Tri-State Masters targets mid-range club golfers who are looking for a golf holiday in which they can combine golf and social interaction with other like-minded golfers from all over Australia and New Zealand.  The trophies and prizes on offer are arguably the best in any amateur golf tournament in Australia.

Entries close on April 14 so don’t delay, be part of the fun and contact Kym Doherty on M: 0408 310 5320408 310 532 or E: golf@sunraysiagolftours.com.au
