Trinder & Johnstone Win Tasmanian Amateur Titles

Leading qualifiers and medallists at this year Tasmanian Men’s and Women’s Amateur Championships at Tasmania Golf Club were Paul Read and Georgia Milbourne.

 

Read, a local member, carded rounds of 69 and 72, a total of 141 (-3) to defeat his nearest rival, Sam Rawlings of Riverside, by two strokes on one-under.

 

Tasmania member and former two-time amateur champion, Mark Schulze, placed third on even-par.

 

Milbourne carded rounds of 76 and 73, a total of 149 (+1) to defeat her nearest rival, Zahara Lemon of Tasmania, by eight strokes on nine-over.

 

Ulverstone Golf Club's Sarah Johnstone placed third on eleven-over-par.

 

Perpetual shields for the medallists now honour Anne Medlycott and the late John Fennell, recognising their many years of outstanding service to Tasmanian golf.
