Click here to view Final Results New Zealander Rod Barltrop made it a hat-trick of Australian Men’sSenior Amateur Championship wins after his come-from-behind three stroke victory at Bribie Island Golf Club Barltrop fired a final round three under par 69 to overcome overnight leader Grahame McDonald by three shots to claim the Kerry Packer Memorial Cup for a third time. This is pretty close to the greatest day of my life, Baltrop, a member of Royal Wellington Golf Club said. I knew going into the round I had some chances but I certainly needed a little bit of help from Grahame. Barltrop last won the title in 2005 at Royal Hobart Golf Club. His maiden win came a year earlier at Links Lady Bay in South Australia in 2004. I hit a few good shots and a few bad ones but it worked out well. This is just a fantastic golf course- it s one fairway style, you ve got to hit it and that s it, Barltrop added. MacDonald, who finished in second position, shot a final round 3-over 75 to be at 2-over for the championship. He was joined in second by New Zealander Martin Webber who shot the equal best round of the day with a 69. Arthur Parkin (NZ) finished fourth with a final 3-over par round of 75. Victorian Chris Tatt and Murray Martin (NZ) finished in a share for fifth place at 6-over. In the Interstate Teams Matches, the Queensland team of Colin Hallam, Grahame MacDonald, Michael Maher and Barry Miles were crowned victors after the three rounds. The trio combined for a total of 680 (best 3 scores over 3 rounds).
