Umbers and Bleumink win Men’s Foursomes

Victorian pair Ashley Umbers and Luke Bleumink made the most of their opening round 4-under par 68 to win the Australian Men&aposs Foursomes Championship by one stroke at Riversdale Golf Club. In sunny and clear conditions, the winning pair backed up their scorching morning round with a final round 2-over par 74 to finish on 142 and one shot ahead of NSW pair Brad Drewitt and Patrick Wilson and English pair Toby Burden and Neil Raymond. Three pairs tied for fourth place led by Western Australian and AIS squad pair Matt Jager and Jason Scrivener who fired consecutive even par rounds for a total of 144. Victorian Jin Jeong paired with Englishman Todd Adcock for rounds of 71 and 73 to also share fourth. New Zealand pair Ben Wallace and James Hamilton finished at 1-over par (145) after rounds of 72 and 73 for a share of seventh place. The Australian Men&aposs Foursomes Championship has been held at Riversdale Golf Club since 2005 and Umbers and Bleumink join past winners of the title including US PGA and European Tour players Geoff Ogilvy, James Nitties, Rick Kulacz, Scott Arnold and Brett Rumford.
