Unfinished business for Christina

Christina Kim arrived in Melbourne last March and felt the course was ripe for the picking – instead she finished in a tie for 46th and returns to take on Commonwealth again in 2011. Eye-catching attire and a laugh that fellow players have described as so hearty it can be heard all over the golf course are part of Kim&aposs game. Last year at Commonwealth, Kim made her first appearance in Melbourne and struggled to a 9-over par total. In 2011, she&aposll be looking to get a better hold on a course she said in 2010 could open up for players depending on the conditions. “This course can be deemed easy one day and hard the next. Visually it may seem so but it may not play so hard,” the American said. The course took its revenge and only seven players in the field finished under par last year. For Kim, 2010 was another solid year – with her best scoring average (72.12) since 2005 – the last year she won at LPGA Tour event. Five top 10 finishes included a tie for 8th at the US Women&aposs Open and a tie for 9th at the Women&aposs British Open. She also grabbed second place at the Spanish Women&aposs Open and finished 12th at the AIB Irish Ladies Open – part of time spent on Ladies European Tour in mid-year. The results ensured Kim finished in 25th place on the LPGA Money List with US$417,634 in season earnings. Kim will return to Melbourne for the opening event of the LET 2011 Season a few weeks with one thing on her mind – taking the fight up to Commonwealth again. “It is a great challenge and a beautiful layout,” she added.
