Updated RD3 Interstate Series results in

The Golf NSW Boys’ Team has made a solid start in the Australian Interstate Teams series with comfortable wins in their first two matches at Ulverstone Golf Club.

The team accounted for host state Tasmania in the first round 4 matches to 1, then followed it up with a 3½ to 1½ result against the ACT in Sunday’s afternoon round.

Joshua Gadd was impressive winning his morning match 7&6, while Jordy Garner and Jason Hong both recorded 4&3 results against their Apple Isle opponents.

The afternoon match against the ACT was a tighter affair, but wins by both Corey Jones and Jay Mackenzie by 3&2 margins, alongside Joshua Gadd who won his second match of the series, this time 1 up, settled the result.

The boys take on the Northern Territory in round three this morning, then face the powerful Victorian team in the afternoon match.

The NSW girls lost their first match of the Junior Australian Interstate series 3½ matches to 1½  to defending Champions, Victoria at Devonport Golf Club.

Celina Yuan was the sole in the morning match, with a 1up victory over Alizza Hetherington. Doey Choi squared her match against Zara Woodbridge, while Stefanie Hall lost a tight one, 1 down to Alex Hilliard. Hannah Park was defeated 4&2 by Gabriella Ruffles, and Amy Chu lost 2&1 to Linley Ooi.

The girls fared a lot better in the afternoon match against South Australia securing a 5-nil whitewash. Belinda Ji led the way with an impressive 8&7 win, while Amy Chu won 6&5. Stefanie Hall and Doey Choi won their matches 5&4, and Celina Yuan made it a clean sheet for the NSW team with a 4&3 win.

UPDATE:

NSW girls have had another resounding 5-0 win at the Australian Junior Interstate Series being played at Devonport Golf Club.

The girls jumped out of the blocks early against Western Australia, with Celina Yuan commanding, firing off 9 birdies over 14 holes in her 6/5 win over Kathryn Norris. Hannah Park fought off a determined Kirsten Rudgeley to win 1 up, while Doey Choi shot 5 under to win her match 3/1, against Claudia Pisano.

Stef Hall continued her impressive campaign defeating Abbie Teasdale 5/4 while Amy Chu had another solid 4/3 win over Alysha Ahnantakrishnan. 

This afternoon the girls take on the composite team of ACT, Tasmania and Northern Territory in round four of the Championship.
