Scrivener closed with a final round 3-over par 72 to finish at 5-over par for the championship with rounds of 70-68-71-72. Californian Joseph Bramlett won the title at 6-under par following rounds of 69-68-66-67, just a fortnight after competing in the US Open at Pebble Beach. Tim Hart (QLD) finished at 6-over par in a five-way tie for 18th place. Tasmanian and Golf Australia National Squad member Ryan McCarthy finished in a tie for 33rd place. National Squad member Bryden Macpherson, who is currently based at the University of Georgia, finished in a tie for 44th while Brendan Smith (NSW) finished in 59th. Since its inception in 1962, The Northeast Amateur has produced champions in the course of its history who have gone on to record successes at the highest levels including Luke Donald (two-time winner), Anthony Kim, Dustin Johnson, David Duval and Ben Crenshaw.
