Following a restructure of the VIS Golf program, the VIS is seeking an experienced, qualified and passionate high performance Golf coach to lead the VIS Golf Program, support the Golf Australia Rookie Pro Program and provide strategic and technical direction of underpinning Victorian pathway programs.
Reporting to the VIS Performance Manager (Pathways) in conjunction with the Golf Australia HP Manager (Victoria) you must possess the capacity to devise, understand and adapt “world leading practice” with innovation and daring to have a performance impact. To be successful in this busy role you will be outcome oriented and extremely organized, with significant high performance coaching experience and able to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of pathway and elite athletes and coaches.
The program is based in Melbourne, utilizing the expertise and facilities of the VIS in Albert Park, the Spring Valley Golf Academy and various State, National and International courses and training facilities.
You will require strong leadership, planning, communication and coordination skills given the role will involve significant time away from the VIS offices at training venues; involve working with and directing performance support staff; liaising with and supporting personal coaches and Golf Australia staff. Therefore a strong emphasis will be placed on the successful applicant having demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, and experience of working with and across multiple organizations and disciplines, along with the technical knowledge needed to be successful.
