The golfing world was saddened to hear of the passing of Duncan Grant.

Duncan had an imposing golfing record and was a member of Tasmania's inaugural success at the Australian Interstate series in 1968.

As well as being undefeated in his four matches, he was the medallist as leading qualifier in the Australian Amateur that year.

Duncan was also player/manager in 1974 when Tasmania were undefeated at Royal Hobart and again won the interstate series.

Playing the majority of his golf at Riverside, Duncan was club champion seven times from 1966 to 1984, won 18 veteran A grade championships and was the Australian Veteran Golfers Union overall winner in 1995, 1996 and in Launceston in 2003.

He was a gentleman and great friend and role model to his many veteran golfing companions.
