Vale: H.C. “Bay” McDonald

Golf Australia extends its sympathies to the family and friends of former Australian Golf Union President H.C. “Bay” McDonald who passed away on Monday evening in Adelaide. McDonald was President of the Australian Golf Union in 1992 – a year which saw Steve Elkington win the Australian Open at The Lakes in Sydney and Kiwi Michael Campbell won the Australian Amateur championship at Royal Adelaide. Mr McDonald was President of South Australian Golf Association from 1989 to 1993. He was one of only two Life Members of both SAGA and Golf SA. He had been a member of Kooyonga Golf Club since 1951. The winners of the annual South Australian Men&aposs Foursomes title hold the H.C. McDonald Trophy each year.
