It is with sadness we advise that John Lock, a former Golf NSW Board Member, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, 30th July. John was one of the inaugural Golf NSW Council Members in 2010. He had served on several NSWGA and Golf NSW Committees, including Finance, Audit & Risk, and Handicapping and Course Rating. He was elected to the Board in 2011 and served as Chair of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee. John was a member of Carnarvon Golf Club and was famously known for riding his golf cart around the course with Maddie, his staffy, sitting by his side.
“John Lock was a well-respected and well-liked member of our golfing community. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to John’s family and friends,” said Stuart Fraser, CEO, Golf NSW.
