The President, Board and Staff of Golf Victoria express their deepest sympathy at the passing of much loved and respected former Victorian Golf Association Council Member, Mr. Peter Carruthers, aged 69 years.
Peter passed away peacefully at Koorooman House, Leongatha with his loving family by his side on 18 December, 2015
A former vice-president at Foster Golf Club; South Gippsland Men’s secretary for 16 years and president for two years, Peter was elected to the VGA Council in 1992. In his seven years of VGA service, he made a significant contribution over that time particularly in the areas of Junior Development and Events; Rules; Handicapping and Course Rating.He retired from the VGA Council at the 1999 Annual Meeting.
Peter is survived by his wife Carole, children Scott, Mark, Helen, Greg and Dale and their respective partners and ten grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Peter James Carruthers will be held at the Leongatha RSL on Tuesday 29 December commencing at 2.30 p. m. A Service for Interment will precede the above Service at the Leongatha Lawn Cemetery at 1.00 p. m.
Golf Victoria’s sincere condolences are extended to the Carruthers family at this time. Peter was a thorough gentleman with a passion for golf and will be sadly missed.
