It is with much sadness that Golf SA advises of the passing of Tony Mazzone on Wednesday 5th February at age 70. Tony joined The Grange Golf Club in July 1980 and was one of the club s influential and very popular members. Tony was well known throughout golf circles in Australia and a highly respected member at The Grange. A past Club Champion and member of the winning 1991 Simpson Cup team, Tony gave an enormous amount of time and energy to The Grange Golf Club including: Instrumental in setting up The Grange Classic, a golfing event that raises $40,000 a year for golf development. Pennant Manager for in excess of 10 years delivering many flags. A member of Junior Development/High performance sub Committee. Founder and sponsor of The Grange Senior Open. Assisting the club with many building and maintenance projects. A generous sponsor and financial supporter of numerous club activities. Tony was a very kind hearted and highly valued member of The Grange Golf Club for 33 years. From a state perspective, Tony was a two time winner of the South Australian Senior Amateur Championship in 2001 and 2004 and was instrumental in attracting interstate players to South Australia to compete in the Championship. Tony will be sadly missed by the entire SA Golf Community. FUNERAL NOTICE FAMILY and FRIENDS of the late Mr. TONY MAZZONE are respectfully informed that the Holy Rosary will be recited SATURDAY, February 8 at 9.00am in St Joseph s Catholic Church Tranmere, 484 Magill Road, Kensington Gardens followed by Funeral Mass. PRIVATE CREMATION In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Cancer Council SA would be appreciated by family. Envelopes will be available at the church. Condolences will be received at the Church following Funeral Mass.
