Van Noord Named State Captain

Golf Tasmania is pleased to announce its men’s team to contest the 2018 Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches.

 

Launceston Golf Club’s Mitch Van Noord will Captain the eight-man team for the first time in Adelaide during May.

 

Van Noord’s squad this year will include the likes of Tasmania Golf Club’s Nathan Gatehouse, Richard Kube, Andrew Phillips, Paul Read and Mark Schulze.

 

Former touring professional and two-time Tasmanian Amateur champion Craig Hancock from Wynyard was also selected following last weekend’s Morcom Cup.

 

New member to the team is 16-year-old Prospect Vale Golf Club junior member Ryan Thomas.

 

Iron Pot Golf Club member Gary Purdon will manage the team while Tasmania Golf Club Professional Nick White has been named Coach.

 

The Australian Men’s Interstate Teams Matches will be conducted at The Grange Golf Club, South Australia from May 8-11.

 

Each State and Northern Territory play each other over singles match play in a round robin format, concluding with a final.

 

The Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches are Australia's pinnacle Amateur Team Golf Championships.
