Vic 4BBB State Final kicks off

Round one of the 2019 Victorian Four-Ball Championship State Final took place today at the pristine Sorrento Golf Club.

The men’s field of 100 players teed off at 7:45am this morning in beautiful sunny conditions.

Kyabram Valley duo Daryl Harrison & John Heywood share the overnight lead with Guy Wilson-Browne (RACV Cape Schank) & David Snell (Leongatha) on 47 points.

Following closely behind are defending champions Dean & Blake Anderson on 47 points.

The Andersons will be looking to close the gap tomorrow in search of becoming the first multiple winners of the men’s championship.

The women’s and mixed fields teed off in the afternoon and both sections are tight at the top at the halfway point.

Leading the charge in the women’s field are Bev & Jan Smith (Hepburn Springs) who finished with 41 points to lead Mansfield’s Jenny Foster & Louise Calvert Jones by one.

In the mixed section, some impressive scoring sees Horsham’s Brent & Izabella McIntyre out in front on 46 points and leading by one to Tambo Valley’s John Hoare & Tina Cowie.

Players will move across to the Open Course at Moonah Links tomorrow for the final round. The women’s & mixed fields will tee off at 7:45am with the men’s taking the afternoon time slot at 1:00pm.
