Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches – Federal Golf Club, Canberra
The Victorian men's team has won the Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches for the first time since 2009 in a narrow win 4.5 – 3.5 win over the New South Wales side at Federal Golf Club.
Under cloud, temperatures hovered between 5 and 10 degrees on a cold morning for the finals.
Todd Sinnott, Zach Murray, Geoff Drakeford and Andrew Schonewille all won their final matches for the Victorian side to give them the edge and the points over New South Wales in a tight contest.
The Victorians did not lose a contest for the week en route to victory.
With New South Wales in second place, Queensland won the first consolation final and secured third place with a 5.5 – 2.5 win over South Australia.
Tasmania finished fifth after triumphing in the second consolation final against Western Australia.
Kiran Day (WA) was the only player to finish the championship undefeated.
