Victorian Golf Survival Fund

The VGA & WGV have jointly established a $200,000 special fighting fund to assist affiliated golf clubs in cases where the impact of Victoria&aposs extended drought and/or associated water restrictions are causing severe financial hardships or threatening survival. The fighting fund will operate for the period 5th February – 30th April, 2007. Clubs can apply for assistance direct to either VGA or WGV using a simple pro-forma available for download from the VGA and WGV websites. Applications will be processed promptly. The fund has been established to assist clubs which need to purchase and/or cart water in order to keep putting greens alive during the 5th February – 30th April, 2007 period, but are facing closure or genuine hardship due to depleted financial resources (circumstances are at or progressing to a point where the club is unable to protect itself or survive using its own available resources). Golf clubs unaffected by or not threatened by the drought are invited to make a donation to the fighting fund. Donations will be accepted from 5th February – 15th April 2007 and can be sent to the VGA or WGV made payable to “Victorian Golf Drought Relief Fund”. All will be acknowledged via the VGA and WGV websites and Golf Victoria Magazine. The $200,000 contributed by VGA and WGV will be used ahead of club donations and any funds from donations which remain uncommitted at 30th April, 2007 will be returned on a pro-rata basis to the donors.
