Victorian Junior Open titles prove tough to capture

Today’s Victorian Junior Open was indeed a true test of golf. The wind and rain may have been a slight hindrance as players pursued success on a day that required great patience and a bag full of creative shots. With the 2015 Oates Victorian Open starting next Thursday the 5th February the unique 13th beach layout was in fantastic condition and from all accounts the juniors certainly enjoyed the challenge of a true championship course.

Despite the windy conditions on offer today the tournament and the scores produced showed the bright future for all juniors who competed. We had some fantastic scores in the Stableford event with Mason Dickson of Bacchus Marsh GC and Jazy Roberts of Neangar Park GC scoring 45 and 40 points respectively. We also had many players in the Stroke event finish well under their handicap with the best nett score coming from Ben Henkel of Curlewis GC in the boys section and Maylling Jiang of Rosanna in the girls section. The two best overall scores and the two crowned champions were Sehee Hong of Eastern GC in the girls section and Ji Woo Jeong of Medway GC in the boys section.
