Victorian men reign in the rain

2008 Men&aposs Interstate Teams Matches winner: VICTORIA Victoria has edged out a gallant New South Wales to claim the coveted Men’sInterstate Teams trophy on the final day at the superb Monash Golf Club. Led by Matthew Griffin and Josh Younger, the Victorians thumped Queensland 6-1 in this morning s singles to move into top spot. NSW found South Australia a more plucky outfit to take on and won the singles 4-3 with SA s Jordan Sherratt, Nick Cullen and Alex Hendrick reducing the NSW advantage. The final day drama capped a wonderful week of golf at Monash where the course stood up to five days of constant golf with aplomb. Tasmania marched up to fourth place in the final standings with a 5 to 1 win over Western Australia Performances of note included South Australia s Jordan Sherratt, NSW s Michael Raseta, Tasmania s Ryan McCarthy and Victorian Leighton Lyle who went through the series undefeated.
