/> Victorian and new National Squad member Ryan Ruffels has finished runner-up at the SINGHA Thailand Junior World Championships at Royal Hua Hin Golf Course.
Ruffels won the 13-14 age group and was T2 in the overall championship having lost in a playoff.
He finished with a final round 70 after opening rounds of 73-65-74 to be at 6-under par, tied with Suradit Yongcharoenchai. The pair were 12 strokes clear of their nearest rival in third place.
"The guy in my group shot 65 so we went into a playoff," Ruffels said.
"I had a 2 shot lead playing last hole and he made birdie and I made bogey. We squared the first 5 holes of the playoff. I then birdied the sixth playoff hole to win the 13-14 age group."
"There were so many people watching. Like 1000 people. It was so much fun," Ruffels added.
He earned an invitation via the Jack Newton Junior Golf Srixon International Sub-Junior Classic in October and travelled with the support of JNJG.
Ruffles also teamed up with fellow JNJG member Brayden Petersen to form the Australian Team. The boys won the team championship by 23 shots.
