Melbourne s Lucas Herbert (Commonwealth GC) wins 2012 Boy s NSW Amateur Championship at Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club. Starting the day with a three-shot lead over New South Welshman Mitchell Vendables, Lucas opened the first 18-holes for the day with an amazing eight under par, 64, a new course record. His total score of 277 was seven clear of his nearest rival, Cameron Davis from Roseville Golf Club who was runner up on a countback from Bankstown s Mitchell Venables. Section A (16-18yrs) Winner was Ben Eccles from Kooringal Golf Club with a total score of 284. Section B (14-15yrs) Winner was Ryan Ruffels from Victoria Golf Club with 295. Section C (13yrs & under) Winner was Isaac Noh from Avondale Golf Club with 297. Round 3 Nett winner was Lucas Herbert (+1) from Commonwealth Golf Club with 65. Round 4 Nett winner was Grant Booth (1) from The Australian Golf Club with 67 on a countback. Wednesday 26 September 2012 – Round 2
The final field is set for the closing 36-holes at the 2012 Boy s NSW Amateur Championship at Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club. It was another brilliant day today with some more remarkable scores to determine the seeded draw for tomorrow s round. Cameron Davis from Roseville GC had the round of the day with a four under par, 68 to put him in 8th position overall. One stroke behind Davis today was Lucas Herbert from Commonwealth GC with a three under par, 69. Herbert is current tournament leader on a total of 140, three strokes ahead of the field. Tomorrow is a 36-hole event starting at 7.00am. The field was reduced to 60 players plus ties, including at least 10 from Section B, and 5 from Section C. The seeded draw can be found below. Ben Eccles from Kooringal Golf Club has a two stroke lead in the 2012 Boys NSW Amateur Championship after shooting an outstanding four under par, 68 in Round 1 at Glenmore Heritage Valley Golf Club today. Eccles had a bogie free round today to attain his first place position. Bankstown s Mitch Venables is two strokes behind with a two under par, 70. 100+ players from around the state took to the course today, which proved to be challenging with the course playing long. Over 100 boys will compete in the 2012 Boy&aposs NSW Amateur Championship being held at Glenmore Heritage Golf Club on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th September 2012 three days of great golfing and meeting other young golfers from around NSW. Draw and Player Information This event is not just for the elite golfer – there are handicap limits and prizes for each age category: Section A (16-17 years): Handicap limit of 8.4 Section B (14-15 years): Handicap limit of 12.4 Section C (13 years and under): Handicap limit of 16.4 The Juniors will be put through their paces, with the Championship being be played over 72 holes stroke play over three days. Day 1 18 holes, Day 2 18 holes, Day 3 36 holes. At the conclusion of Day 2, the field will be reduced, with a maximum of 60 players, plus ties. A seeded draw will be completed for Round 3.
