VIDEO: Early-bird Luck raring to go

As a series of storms swept across Augusta today, early bird Curtis Luck was among those least affected.

Luck, of Perth, was at the Masters practice range tinkering before the rain set in, and while he and thousands of others would naturally have hoped for a great day for the traditional par-three contest, everything was abandoned early in the afternoon.

“Fortunately I was here early, fiddling around with some clubs on the range and got a fair bit of practice in beforehand,” Luck told his masters.com video diary.

“So I’ll be feeling decent still for tomorrow.”

Luck, as the reigning US Amateur champion, will be paired with defending Masters champion Danny Willett and American veteran Matt Kuchar in rounds one and two.

“Danny is quite funny and Matt is notoriously one of the nicest guys on the tour,” Luck said.

“So I’m sure it’s going to be a great day in some great company and I’m so excited to get on the first tee tomorrow … and hit that first tee shot and get it all under way.”
