VIDEO: Min Woo Lee out-drives Jason Day

OK, so we don’t know how far Jason Day reached down for his drive.

And no, there’s no tape measure on either of these blasts.

But suffice it to say that Min Woo Lee has yet another fairly substantial story to tell from his time at the Sage Valley Junior Invitational in South Carolina.

Last year, at the corresponding “Nike night” that the tournament organises annually, Lee met and hit some balls with his idol Tiger Woods.

Today, Lee not only got the chance to share the tee with compatriot and Jason Day, but took clear pleasure in being able to pound out a driver further than the world No.3 during a quick exhibition.

Lee is quickly becoming one of the most prodigious hitters in amateur golf, regularly hammering drives in excess of 300m.

Today during his tournament record second round at Sage Valley, Lee hit a driver and wedge to the green on the 500m par-five 15th.

But one suspects the bragging rights Lee just won over Day might be worth even more than tap-in birdies.
