Volunteer of the Year

The Board of Golf Victoria would once again like to recognise the contributions made to Victorian golf by hard-working and dedicated individual men and women or groups of volunteers at club, District and State level.

The majority of Victoria’s golf clubs, District Associations and Victorian Golf League Clubs are significantly assisted by volunteers who contribute their time, knowledge, skills and enthusiasm in a variety of ways.  Many volunteers have provided outstanding service over long periods of time.  Some are formally recognized within their own club or District but little recognition is given within the broader golf community or at public level. The Volunteer of the Year Award are an opportunity to provide recognition to these “unsung heroes” of Victorian golf.

The following award was presented at the 2017 Victorian Golf Industry Awards Night held in August 2017. A joint initiative between Golf Victoria, the PGA of Australia and Golf Management Victoria, the event was established as an annual occasion to properly recognise achievements and contributions to the sport as well as being a general celebration of Victorian golf.
