Waikerie send SOS following storm damage

Waikerie Golf Club in the Riverland have sent an SOS to the golf industry after the course suffered significant damage in last week&aposs destructive storms that hit the area. During the storms that hit the Waikerie district, about 70 percent of the trees around the course were either blown over or damaged. While greens staff and volunteers have been busy clearing greens, fairways and surrounds so that course maintenance and golf can resume, a significant amount of clean-up work is still to be undertaken. Waikerie Golf club has called for assistance from volunteers is come armed with rakes, chainsaws, trailers and tractors at a working bee to be held on Sunday 20 November. Waikerie Golf club superintendant Craig Davis will be coordinating the working bee and can be contacted on 0488419072 to answer any queries.
