Walker wins Sony Open

America&aposs Jimmy Walker has produced a sizzling final-round seven-under 63 to clinch victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii on Sunday.

Walker finished the tournament on 17 under with compatriots Chris Kirk (16 under) and Jerry Kelly (15 under) behind him at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu.

In a bogey-free round, Walker birdied the 13th, 15th, 16th and 17th holes to launch his assault on the championship – leaving Kirk needing an eagle on the 18th to tie and force a play-off hole.

But Kirk could not reach the green in two shots on the par-five final hole to give himself the opportunity to force the tie.

The win was Walker's second PGA Tour triumph in three months after nine years and 188 starts without a win – his other victory coming at the Frys.com Open in October 2013.

Harris English (14 under) enjoyed a consistent weekend with two scores of 66 and two of 67 on his way to outright fourth while Australia's Marc Leishman (13 under) finished strongly with a five-under 65 securing fifth position American duo Brian Stuard (12 under) and Jeff Overton (11 under) were in sixth and seventh positions respectively.

Twelve players were tied for eighth on 10 under including Masters champion Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson and Retief Goosen.
