Watt makes PGA Tour debut in Puerto Rico

Rookie Squad member and former World Number 1 amateur Brady Watt will make his PGA Tour debut this week at the Puerto Rico Open. The Western Australian turned professional in December and has played in the Thailand Golf Championship and Africa and Joburg Opens in recent weeks. Watt tweeted that he was “excited about the week ahead.” Watt was co-medalist at the 2013 U.S Amateur Championship and lost in the semi-final to fellow Western Australian and friend Oliver Goss. No Australian has won the Puerto Rico Open, which joined the PGA Tour schedule in 2008. Robert Allenby, Steve Bowditch, Scott Gardiner, Nathan Green, Matt Jones, Bronson La&aposCassie and Rod Pampling are the other Australians in the field. The winner earns a 2 year exemption on the PGA Tour and an exemption into the U.S PGA Championship at Valhalla later this year.
