Webb, Keating off to Open flyer

Australia&aposs Karrie Webb and Stacey Keating are one shot off the pace after the first round of the Ricoh Women&aposs British Open. The Aussie pair trail South Korea&aposs Haeji Kang and So Yeon Ryu who are tied for the lead on two under. Webb was one over with half a round to play but two birdies on the back nine earned the Australian veteran a one-under 71. Keating birdied four times and bogeyed three times to join her compatriot one stroke off the lead. Kang and Ryu lead a group of nine players on one under. In a tough opening round at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake, both Kang and Ryu completed erratic rounds, which included plenty of dropped shots. Kang carded two bogeys and a double-bogey but the 21-year-old South Korean also managed six birdies in her first-round 70. Ryu finished the front nine on even par and while she scored four birdies on the back nine, the 22-year-old bogeyed the 14th and 17th holes to finish Thursday tied with Kang. Joining Webb and Keating in the chasing pack are South Korea&aposs Jiyai Shin, Ai and Mika Miyazato of Japan, English amateur Charley Hull, Lydia Hall of Wales and American pair Katie Futcher and Vicky Hurst. New Zealand starlet Lydia Ko and world No.1 Yani Tseng of Taiwan are two of 17 players tied for 12th on even par. LIVE SCOREBOARD
