Australian Karrie Webb secured fifth place behind Paula Creamer, who held on for a wire-to-wire victory in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic at the Highland Meadows Golf Club. The 21-year-old American, who shot 60 in her first round, led by four strokes going into the final day, but was only one ahead after dropping a couple of shots on her first 12 holes. Creamer finally made a birdie at the 13th on her way to a winning total of 16-under-par 268, winning by two strokes over Nicole Castrale, who surged through the field with a 64, the low round of the day, while South Korea&aposs Eun-Hee Ji finished third at 13-under after a 72. Chinese rookie Shanshan Feng climbed to within one shot of Creamer with six holes to play – but the pressure took its toll. Feng dropped three shots in a row starting at the 14th, but her 69 gave her a career best fourth-place finish at 12-under-par. Webb was next at 11-under, with compatriot Katherine Hull a stroke further back. Creamer had 18 birdies over the first two rounds when she posted scores of 60 and 65, but she managed only four over her final 36 holes. “It&aposs always difficult to lead from start to finish,” she said after picking up her third title of the season and the seventh of her four year LPGA Tour career. “There is so much pressure.” “But I&aposm just pleased that I got the job done.” Castrale opened with a bogey, but then picked up a shot at the seventh and made three birdies in a row starting at the 11th and three more in a row starting at the 15th in a back nine of 31. Meanwhile, New Zealand&aposs Lynn Brooky has finished third behind world No.3 Suzann Pettersen at the Ladies Irish Open. Brooky produced her best finish of the season after firing a final-round 73 to complete the tournament at four-under-par, seven strokes behind Pettersen. The 27-year-old Swede hit three birdies on the front nine and another three coming home to cruise to her ninth career title ahead of Norway&aposs Marianne Skarpnord, who was second on six-under. “It was windy and challenging so I&aposm very happy with my performance,” Pettersen said. “The wind was different today which made the course play totally different. It made some of the holes a little harder and the other way round so the par fives were very reachable. I tried to be patient and get my score on the par fives.” “If a birdie drops here or there then that&aposs a bonus. Today I just tried to get the job done. I tried to get into double figures and I managed to stay there.” Spaniard Tania Elosegui, Italian Federica Piovano and German Martina Eberl shared fourth place on three-under. There wasn&apost much joy for the Australians in the field, Dana Lacey the best of the lot at two-over.
