Australians Kane Webber and David Bransdon trail leader Chinarat Phadungsil by just four strokes after a delayed second round of the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur. With many players yet to complete their second round because of lightning, Phadungsil fired a second round of 67 to be in the clubhouse at seven-under-par. Webber carded a second round of 73 to finish at three-under-par, while Bransdon joint him at the score after being one-under for the day with four holes remaining. Gavin Flint is the next best placed Australian at two-under-par after shooting his second consecutive round of 71, while compatriot Gary Simpson is a stroke further behind after a round of 72. Five players are two strokes behind Phadungsil at five-under-par, headed by Englishman Simon Dyson (68) and Finn Mikko Ilonen (70). Overnight leader Robert Rock crashed to a second round of 78 to be in equal 31st position, tied with Australians Adam Groom and Marcus Both. Former US Open champion Michael Campbell recovered from an opening round of 75 to shoot a steady 70, and should make the cut at one-over-par. “Obviously I&aposm not here to make the cut, I&aposm here to win a tournament,” Campbell said. “There might still be a chance if I can shoot a couple of low rounds.” Matthew Millar, Unho Park and Tony Carolan are on plus-two, while Adam Le Vesconte, Terry Pilkadaris and Marcis Fraser are a shot further back. Scott Strange and Terry Price are four-over, Scott Barr is on five-over, Brad Kennedy six-over, while Adam Blyth is nine-over, but has nine holes remaining. The remainder of the second round will be completed early on the third day.
