PGA TOUR 2008 RYDER CUP, Valhalla Golf Club, Kentucky, USA Team USA captain Paul Azinger put an end to the nine-year wait as the Americans clinched the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla. After a see-saw battle of the weekend, a scintillating performance by the American young guns put paid to Nick Faldo s team s chances. Team USA won 16 to 11 with Anthony Kim, Chad Campbell and Jim Furyk s impressive singles victories playing a telling role. The final score was the largest Ryder Cup winning margin since 1981. VIKING CLASSIC, Annandale Golf Club, Massachusetts, USA Australian Steve Allan had an excellent results in MA, finishing tied for fourth at the Viking Classic. Allan had rounds of 71-68-67-66 to card a 16-under 272. He was just three shots behind winner Will Mackenzie at 19-under. Nathan Green finished at T25 with 10-under 278. Andrew Buckle finished at T56 with 6-under. Jason Day failed to make the cut. For a full leaderboard click here LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR GOTEBORG MASTERS, Lycke Golf Club, SWEDEN France s Gwladys Nocera produced four astonishing rounds of golf to win the Goteborg Masters with the lowest four-round score in the 30 year history of the Ladies European Tour. Nocera shot rounds of 66-62-65-66 to finish 29-under par, 11 strokes clear of her nearest rival, Sweden s Nina Reis on 18-under. In doing so, Nocera broke Laura Davies 25-under (267) record at the 1995 Irish Open. Australian Frances Bondad had one of her better finishes for the season sharing T17 at 10-under. Karen Lunn finished at T23 at 7-under. For a full leaderboard click here ASIAN TOUR MERCURIES TAIWAN MASTERS, Taiwan Golf Club, Taipei. Richard Moir was the highest-placed Australian at the Taiwan Masters over the weekend. Moir shot rounds of 72-70-75-72 (289) to finish 1-over in 13th position. Gavin Flint, Mitchell Brown, David Gleeson and Marcus Both were all a shot behind Moir on 2-over. Chinese Taipei s Lu Wen-Teh won the event at 11-under. For a full leaderboard click here NATIONWIDE TOUR OREGON CLASSIC- Shadow Hills Country Club, Oregon USA Australia s Scott Gardiner came home with barnstorming 5-under 67 to tie for 8th at the OregonClassic at Shadow Hills Country Club. Won Joon Lee and Jarrod Lyle were the next best Aussies, finishing at T14 and 11-under for the tournament. David McKenzie finished at T33 with 7-under. Greg Chalmers and Wade Ormsby missed the cut. For a full leaderboard click here JAPAN TOUR 2008 ANA Open, Sapporo Golf Club 2007 Australian Open champion Craig Parry flew the flag as the highest-placed Aussie at the Ana Open in Japan. Parry finished at T17 (-5) with a final round 69. He was ten strokes behind the tournament winner, Azuma Yano on 15-under. After an opening round 68, Scott Laycock finished 1-over.
