What women want – helping shape the future of women’s golf

The Australian Sports Commission is in the process of conducting an independent review on women&aposs involvement in Australian golf. The review process will consist of four phases which will include an online survey, interview and consultation meetings with key stakeholders, a discussion workshop of selected key stakeholders and presentation of the final report and recommendations to Golf Australia to identify opportunities for further growth and development. The online survey has been sent to all clubs nationwide to gather an accurate snapshot of women&aposs involvement in golf. All participating clubs will be entered into the draw to win $1000 of golf gear from Srixon. Nick Green, Manager of Game and Industry Development at Golf Australia said, “This independent survey will provide the Australian Sports Commission with invaluable data that we can use to help shape the future of the game “The ASC will present their findings to Golf Australia in June and we will then be able to use these facts and figures to implement programs and initiatives to create more opportunities for women to become involved in the game.” Golf Australia and the Australian Sports Commission look forward to the cooperation of the Australian golf clubs in ensuring the review identifies key opportunities for the growth and development of golf in the future.
