What’s in a name? Everything!

It’s a name most Australian sports fans are familiar with – just not in relation to golf.

But perhaps it’s time to get used to hearing “Woodbridge” uttered in golfing circles after 14-year-old Zara was named in the Victorian Junior Girls team today.

Zara, daughter of Australian tennis hero Todd, is one of six players named in the Victorian team to compete in the Interstate Series in South Australia from April 12-16 at Fleurieu Golf Club.

But at 14, the Royal Melbourne member is clearly the youngest.

It’s another notch for Haileybury College in Melbourne, which also has Golf Australia national squad member Ryan Ruffels among its students.

Ruffels was today named captain of the Victorian boys’ team that will compete at the Links Lady Bay.

It’s a double coup for Victoria Golf Club which, in Olivia Kline, has the captain of both boys’ and girls’ teams.
