Whitaker and Blue Devils set for Caves Valley

National Squad member Alison Whitaker&aposs 11th-ranked Duke women’s golf team begin their 2009 NCAA Championship campaign in Maryland on Tuesday at the 6,443-yard, Par 72 Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills. The Blue Devils will be making their 12th straight appearance in the NCAA Championship. The Blue Devils boast four golfers in the lineup with NCAA Championship experience — seniors Jennie Lee and Amanda Blumenherst will be seeing action in their fourth championship. Junior and Australian Alison Whitaker tied for 68th last year and tied for 46th as a freshman. Sophomore Kim Donovan will be making her second appearance after tying for 41st last year (77-74-79-71=301). Junior Yu Young Lee will be making her first appearance in the NCAA Championship. Heading into the NCAA Championship, the Blue Devils have won one event, which came at the NGCA National Match Play Championship.
