Whitney Hillier blog: Next stop British Amateur

Whitney Hillier writes from Wales: Hello from Harlech, North Wales! Dad and I drove for 5 hours from England into Wales on Thursday to get ready for the Women&aposs British Amateur Championships held at the Royal St Davids Golf Club. Harlech is such a small town but it just unbelievable. There are so many beautiful mountains around the place and there is just the one golf course in the area. The course is amazing and is a traditional links golf course with plenty of rough and bunkers with undulating fairways. I am staying with the club&aposs Ladies President and she lives on top of a hill that overlooks the golf club and the ocean! Just so picturesque! There is a massive castle on the edge of a cliff face overlooking the golf club; it has been there since the 1300&aposs, so it has done well to stay up! It is just freezing over here at the moment, it has been so long since I have been this cold but its great to experience the real UK weather again! Lots of punch shots happening! We start the tournament on Tuesday 7th June. I am really looking forward to playing my first British Amateur! The Astor Salver was a great tournament and result for me last week so hopefully that continues this week!
