Wollongong wins environment award

Wollongong Golf Club took out the #SEAChanger award for 2017 at the #SEASummit on 14 November help at the MCG in Melbourne.

Wollongong GC has invested heavily in improving its environmental sustainability and corporate citizenship, working closely with industry partners to design policies and practices to have a positive impact on the environment.

The club’s vegetation management plan focusses on indigenous species, it’s recycled water management program ensures no town water is used for course irrigation and the club has significantly lowered its use of chemicals and fertilisers. There are active recycling programs for paper, cardboard, plastic and glass and cooking oils from the club's kitchen. LED lighting has been installed in the clubhouse and water saving taps are used throughout the club's kitchen and accommodation rooms.

Wollongong Golf Club is congratulated for its outstanding efforts in environmental best practice.
