Women�s A1 Pennant Rd 1 – The Grange team hit top form

Grange no.3 player Kristalle Blum in action for SA in the recent Junior Interstate Series Golf SA, Royal Adelaide and The Grange have enjoyed a winning start to the season, in round one of the 2013 Women&aposs A1 Pennant Competition at Glenelg. Champions in 2009 and last season, Glenelg stumbled against The Grange, with the away side claiming victory 3 – 2. All three of The Grange s State Representatives, Ella Adams, Kristalle Blum and Cassidy Evreniadis had wins while Glenelg s two games came from Josie Hodge defeating Jean Foo 2&1 and Jenny Lee over Louse Glennon 4&3. The past two seasons, four wins has been required in order to finish in the top two. Glenelg will likely need an unblemished season from here, to contest the July 7 final. Royal Adelaide started the season in fine style with a 3.5 – 1.5 victory over Blackwood. Paula White won match 5 for Blackwood defeating Anne Ellis 5&4 and Sally Graham at number 3 squared her match with Carolyn Cochrane. However Royal Adelaide edged ahead with victories to Juliet Hugo over Lorry Brown 1up, Jovana Bozanic 6&5 up against Christine Beasley, and State Captain Caitlin Roberts a winner over Angela Masters 5&4. In the final match, the Golf SA Team, fielding a side of four juniors defeated Kooyonga 3.5 & 1.5. Caillin Lakin, Rachael Taylor and Deb Christie had wins over Jill Trenorden, Viv Chu Wing Kwan and Cara Guest respectively, while for Kooyonga Libby Broomhead defeated Zoe Taylor 5&4 and Jodie Deacon squared her match with Acacia Curtis. Next week&aposs round two matches at Flagstaff Hill sees Blackwood taking on Kooyonga, while Golf SA play Glenelg and The Grange front Royal Adelaide.
