Women�s Metropolitan Major Pennant wrap

DIVISION ONE

New South Wales Golf Club have issued a statement to their opponents with a dominant 4 1/2 to 1/2 win against a well credentialed Concord team in round one of the 2017 Women’s Metropolitan Major Pennant.

Led by the 5&4 win of Chloe Thornton, the La Perouse team didn’t allow their opponent any opportunity to get into the match. 2016 Women’s State Team Captain Olivia Wilson had a big win over the 2016 NSW Girls Champion Belinda Ji, while in the battle of the number One’s Hanah Park accounted for Doey Choi 3&2.

Avondale Golf Club had no trouble against their opponents from Cabramatta, with five matches to nil win. Sharon Thomson had the biggest result, a 7&6 win, while the rest of her team also had dominant wins also.

In Pool Two, The Australian survived a thriller at home against the Lakes, with a tight three matches to two win. Amy Chu’s 3&2 win over Chizuru Ueda proved decisive in a result that featured two halved matches.

2016 Division Two Champions Castle Hill didn’t need too much time to get accustomed to playing in Division One Major Pennant with three matches to 2 away win against Bonnie Doon. In a tight affair, it was Vicki Gale and Karen Romer’s 2&1 results that got the ‘Hills team over the line.

DIVISION TWO

Stonecutters Ridge accounted for North Ryde 4/1. Stonecutters’ Lia Lavelle had a big 8&7 win.

Cumberland was too strong for Penrith 5/nil, Louise Britton taking her match 7&5, while St Michael’s were equally dominant, beating Cronulla by the same margin. St. Michael’s Pat Pitsawong the pick for St. Michael’s winning 7&6.
