Womens Senior heads to Barossa Valley

Sandy Creek Golf Club in South Australia will host the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship from 22-26 October 2018.

Up to 100 players will contest the event to be played over 36-holes stroke play qualifying, with the leading 16 players qualifying for the championship match play rounds. A further 32 players across four age divisions will qualify for age championship match play rounds. Players must have reached their 55th birthday with a maximum handicap limit of 20.

The event was last played in South Australia in 2013, where two-time champion Josie Ryan (Qld) prevailed. It will visit Sandy Creek Golf Club for the first time.

Sandy Creek Golf Club is located in the Barossa Valley wine region and the picturesque course provides the complete golfing experience, with superbly manicured greens, lush fairways and several holes featuring well positioned water hazards and bunkers.

The challenging sand belt course is widely recognised for having some of the best putting surfaces in South Australia and in 2017 & 2016 was named the Regional Club of the Year (small).

Entries open on 23 July.
