Women’s Bronze Medallion & Coronation Medal

CORONATION MEDAL The Coronation Medal was played today at The Lakes and Ryde-Parramatta Golf Clubs. Fifty-eight teams took part with 116 participants on each course. Conditions were favourable for golf at both venues. The Coronation Medal was won by Concord Golf Club with a total score of 313. Concord Golf Club were represented by Shelley Shin (+3), Carolynn Harkin (15), Rhonda Magner (9) and Margaret Mitchell (12). Runners up were Oatlands Golf Club with a score of 318. It was a very successful day for the Concord players as Carolynn Harkin was the winner of the individual nett prize while her team mate Shelly Shin had the best scratch score of the day at The Lakes. At Ryde-Parramatta Trenna-Ann Wall (13) was the nett winner with a score of 73 and scratch winner was Pamela Tsiamis of St. Michael s Golf Club with a score of 82. BRONZE MEDALLION The Bronze Medallion was played today at Wakehurst and Cabramatta Golf Clubs. Fifty-six teams participated. Conditions were very difficult at Wakehurst with constant rain from early morning whilst conditions at Cabramatta were more favourable. The winners, defending their title from last year were Wakehurst Golf Club. The Wakehurst ladies, Lynette Brown and Monica Yuill had solid scores of 83 and 82 on their home course while their team members Ann Strange and Momo Ono had scores of 85 and 80 at Cabramatta to total 330 and win by 3 shots. The 2013 Women&aposs Bronze Medallion and Coronation Medal take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 September. The Bronze Medallion will be played at Wakehurst and Cabramatta Golf Clubs and the Coronation Medal will be played at Ryde-Parramatta and The Lakes. Representing their Club and playing in teams of four, almost 60 teams will compete in each event. The Bronze Medallion and Coronation Medal will be presented to the team with the best aggregate four nett scores. Draws and Player Information can be found via the links at the bottom of the page.
