Women’s GRADE Pennant: Manly Grab Div One Gold

Manly Golf Club landed the Division 1 title for 2019 in Women’s Grade Pennant on Friday at Concord Golf Club.

In the final round of the season, Manly defeated their opponents, Pennant Hills Golf Club, four matches to 1 to win the flag on a contest countback.

Monash Country Club were leading the chase leading into the final round but were beaten by Pymble Golf Club, 3 ½ matches to 1 ½.

Gemma Amate featured for the Northern Beaches team and managed a spectacular 7 and 6 win in the final match of the year, which allowed her to remain undefeated for the season.

 

Division 2

New South Wales secured the Division 2 Grade with a win over Wakehurst Golf Club, 4 ½ matches to ½ in their final meet.

“We are very excited to win Division 2 of Grade with a 4.5 to 0.5 result and are looking forward to playing in Division 1 next year. Congratulations and thanks to all the players and caddies who assisted with getting us to the goal post!” – NSWGC Grade Manager Raj Narayan

Michelle Di Natale of New South Wales and Tarina Foote of The Lakes both went undefeated starred for their teams after they went through the season undefeated.

 

Division 3

Elanora Country Club earned the Division 3 title after defeating their final opponents of the year, Muirfield Golf Club, four matches to 1. 

Women's Captain, Wendy Meurer had a few words to say about the win, "We, at Elanora, are very proud of our Grade team's win in Division 3, 2019.  The team worked very hard and they look forward to competing next year in Division 2."

 

Division 4

Cronulla convincingly won the Division 4 flag for the 2019 juncture. Their final opponents, Royal Sydney almost defeated the Southerland Shire club in their last round, but the winning team were too strong, winning 3 matches to 2.

"It’s been 12 years since Cronulla has brought home a grade pennant.

"We are all extremely proud of our team and along with all the players have enjoyed great celebrations.

Royal Sydney’s Jane Buckley was the star for Division 4, going through undefeated.
