The Australian Women’s Senior and Mid Amateur Championships are quickly approaching, and there is still time to gain entry. The close of entries has been extended to Friday 3 October. A strong field is already in the making with the current and four time Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Champion, Sylvia Donohoe from NSW, ready to travel to the beautiful Ulverstone Golf Club in Tasmania. Deirdre Brander, last year s runner up will also make the trek, as will contenders Sue Wooster, Helen Stewart, Ros Fisher and Lynne Townsend. In its second year, the Australian Women’s Mid Amateur field is looking strong, with 2007 Champion Julie Swanson from NSW looking to defend her title. At this stage, Julie s rivals appear to be fellow statesman Gemma Dooley and Kim Burke.
