Women’s Mountain Meeting

Congratulations to Tarina Foote of The Lakes who shot a round of 84 at Blackheath on Tuesday, October 17 to secure her win for the 2017 Yallambee Cup at the Women's Mountain Meeting. Foote was tied after round one at Wentworth Falls on Monday, October 16 with an 88. Wakehurst's Lorretta Woodhead had rounds of 76 nett at Wentworth Falls and 67 nett at Blackheath, a total of 143 to win the 36-hole nett by four shots. Runner up was Avalon's Lisa Zalitis with a total 147 nett.

The Blue Mountains Salver was won by Cammeray's Jann Hughes with a total score of 74 points. Hughes had 38 points on Monday, October 16 at Wentworth Falls CC and 36 points at Blackheath on Tuesday, October 17 to win the Salver by two. Local lady Rosalie Rolfe of Blackheath came in second overall with scores of 33 and 39 points, a total of 72.

Day three, Wednesday October 18, was an 18-hole foursomes stroke event with division one at Lithgow GC and division two at Wentworth Falls CC.

The winning pair at Lithgow was Nancye Cullen of Lakeside and Jane Sherlock from Bankstown with 71 1/2 nett. Runners up and only half a shot behind was Judy Dind of Toukley and local Lithgow member Diane McGuire with 72 nett. Scratch winners were Bankstown's Leonie guthrie and Deborah Young with 90 off the stick.

in division two the winners had an impressive score of 65 1/2 nett was Avalon's Jan Pike and Bayview's Janet Raine. In second position and also only half a shot behind was Chatwood's Sheila Prater and Susan Ames with 66 nett.

The final round of the Women's Mountain Meeting was played on Thursday October 19 at Leura and Blackheath Golf Club's for the teams v par event.

At Blackheath, Cammeray's Jann Hughes, Patricia Kerr, Carol Liivrand and Catherine Ward won the event with +14, runners up with +11 were Keiko Hirayama of Burleigh, Yuko Kitai of Terrey Hills, Toshiko Miki of Cromer and Wakehurst's Junko Ota.

Chatswood teams stole the show at Leura with the team of Diana Hearn, Jan Steel, Kay Turnbull and Kerrie Robinson winning with +13. Runners up and also from Chatswood were Susan Ames, Renuka Patel, Sheila Prater and Elizabeth Williams with +12.
