Avondale Golf Club sit on top of their pool after two rounds of the Women’s Metropolitan Major Pennant.
The Northern Suburbs club had little trouble grabbing an excellent three matches to two away win against Cabramatta.
Standouts for Avondale were Kara Williams who had a big 8&6 win over Tamara Maris, while 2016 Jean Derrin Trophy winner Grace Kim had a 7&5 win against Cara Milson.
In the other pool match, Concord was victorious in a thriller against New South Wales GC. with two of the five games ending in halves, it was up to Yerin Kim and Antonia Gonzalez from the home club to provide the wins needed to grab the result. Kim Defeated Gemma Dooley 3&2, while Gonzalez held her nerve to defeat Chloe Thornton 2 up.
In Pool two, The Australian grabbed a vital away win against the Lakes, three matches to two. Tess Clarke, Jessica Lasky and Stefanie Hall all had wins for the Kensington outfit against their neighbours.
Bonnie Soon had little trouble with Castle Hill, running away with their match 4/1. Daniele Vasquez led the way for the Pagewood based team, with a 6&5 win over Lucy Harris.
In division two, Ryde Parramatta, Stonecutters Ridge and St. Michael’s all won. St Michael’s leads the Division with two wins from as many starts and a sizeable 9 1/2 to 1/2 win/loss differential.
