The final round to this year’s Southern Junior Classic was contested this morning in ideal golfing conditions.
In the boys section, Jack Holland and Joshua Fuller started the day with a one shot buffer over Tom Ryan, Noah Best and Ben Steven. But it was Cameron Taylor from Kooringal Golf Club who remained consistent over the two days shooting 73,72. He cared a double bogey and 3 bogeys but recovered well having five birdies. Sung Jun Lee and Tom Ryan were the nearest challenges to Taylor bother finishing the tournament at 146.
Jeneath continues her exceptional summer of golf taking out the Overall Girls title by 1 stroke. Wong had a round of 2 over par 74, battling early be recovered well shooting 2 under on the back nine. Sayumi De Costa applied sensational pressure to Wong throughout the day but fell just one short but finished the day 2 under and outright second.
There was some unbelievable scores in the overall handicap section but Cheltenham’s Joel Harrod claiming the top honours after handing in a round of 68 today to sit nicely beside his 67 and to beat his handicap by a 9 strokes.
